Cottage Loaf

Wednesday nights are Date Night around here—a little midweek tradition that gives us something sweet to look forward to. And this week, I decided to add a warm, homemade twist: a fresh Cottage Loaf, baked just in time for dinner. This recipe for the classic English loaf is brought to you by Mr. Paul Hollywood himself (you will note mine is shaped differently).

There’s something quietly romantic about bread rising in the oven while sauces simmer and the table gets set. I’ve been working on a surprise to go with it—something cozy, clever, and just a little bit whimsical. If it works, it’ll be the cutest way to serve bread and make the evening feel extra special.

I’ll share the results tomorrow (fingers crossed it’s a win and not a bust!). But no matter what, few things smell better than freshly baked bread—and tonight, our kitchen smells like love.

If you try this bake, I’d love to see it come to life in your own cozy kitchen. Share a photo over on Facebook and tag it with #thequiltedbakery so we can all enjoy the bake together.
