I was recently asked to add a savory bake to my lineup, so when charcuterie landed on the dinner menu, I swapped out our usual French bread and baked a loaf of Caramelized Onion & Thyme Bread instead.
This one’s rich, aromatic, and just the right kind of rustic. The onions caramelize low and slow, and the thyme adds a fragrant, earthy note that pairs beautifully with cheeses, cured meats, and cozy winter soups and stews. It’s a loaf that feels special but doesn’t ask for much fuss — just a skillet, a little patience, and a good appetite (my husband ate half the loaf in one sitting).
If you’re looking for a savory bake to round out your board, this one’s a keeper! Since it's my own recipe, I have included it here for you, or you can download the PDF using the link above.
If you try this bake, I’d love to see it come to life in your own cozy kitchen. Share a photo over on Facebook and tag it with #thequiltedbakery. Until next time, keep your oven warm, your bobbin full, and your heart stitched to the things you love.
